Mission and Purpose

The 515th Regiment Regional Training Institute (RTI) will execute Career Management Fields (CMF/MOSQ), Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Officer Candidate School (OCS) training during the current training year at the New Mexico Army National Guard Training Complex (Santa Fe, NM) to ensure Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve Component Soldiers are trained, qualified, and mission ready for deployment and operational success in follow-on assignments.

History of the 515th Regional Training Institute (RTI)

Regional Training Institutes (RTIs) are Army National Guard units established in 2011 to deliver standardized training to active duty, Army Reserve, and National Guard Soldiers under the One Army School System.

The New Mexico National Guard stands as one of the oldest and most storied military organizations in the United States. Its history stretches back over four centuries, rooted in the rugged frontier of the American Southwest and shaped by the diverse cultures, conflicts, and transformations that have defined the region. From colonial militias to modern deployments across the globe, the New Mexico National Guard has consistently embodied a spirit of resilience, duty, and honor. While the 515th Regiment was only recently established in its current role as the headquarters and training battalions of New Mexico's Regional Training Institute, its lineage is rooted in a diverse array of predecessor units.

As an example of our dedication to develop our students, we have achieved an Institution of Excellence rating in 2020, 2023 and are currently being rated for 2026.
